Midwest Women's Healthcare has informed patientes of a data hack when records were mistakenly placed in a dumpster during a construction project at their facility. The records in turn were blown out of the dumpster during a strong wrap storm in the area. The records included names, addresses and social surety numbers for female patients in 2011 and 2012. Midwest Healthare Specialists agreed to set up a victims' fund of $400,000 to remunerate those women whose records were exposed as a result of the physical revelation of documents.
