Pingdom support uses a third-party vendor, Zendesk, to create and manage customer support tickets. On october 2, 2019, Zendesk notified us of unauthorized access to their systems. While Pingdom itself was not targeted, this incident may experience led to exposure of identifying customer information used to open a support ticket, which may include email address, social media name, or phone number. Zendesk indicated that this unauthorized access did not include data contained within the ticket itself.
If you have opened a reinforcement ticket with us in the past, there is a risk that the customer information used to open the ticket may have been shared externally. Zendesks issue did not impact your Pingdom login information or any information contained in your Pingdom account.
While there is no direct activity you need to make as a result of this incident, we encourage you to have precautions to monitor any email activity, such as attempted spam or phishing attempts.
