Sopra Steria announced on October 21 that it had detected a cyberattack using a hitherto unknown version of Ryuk ransomware.
This attempt was quickly blocked thanks to internal IT and cybersecurity teams. The measures immediately implemented made it possible to contain the scatter of the virus to a limited division of the Group's facilities and to protect its customers and partners.
To date, Sopra Steria has not observed any data leaks or harm caused to its customers' information systems.
The secure remediation plan, initiated on October 26, is coming to an end. Workstations, production and R&D servers as well as internal tools and applications have been gradually relaunched. customer connections get also been gradually re-established.
Throughout this period, the Group's priority has been safety and proximity to its customers.
The remediation and more or less unavailability of the various systems since october 21 should get a receipts negative impact on the operating border of between � 40 million and � 50 million. The insurance reporting available to the group against cyber risks amounts to � 30 million.
The commercial activity of the 4th quarter should not be significantly affected by this event.
After integrating the above elements, Sopra Steria anticipates for fiscal 2020 an organic slump in revenue of 4.5% to 5.0% (previously between -2% and -4%), a rate of operating margin on concern activity of around 6.5% (previously between 6% and 7%) and free cash flow of between � 50m and � 100m (previously between � 80m and � 120m) � ).
