Martin University in Indianapolis disclosed that they were hit by a ransomware snipe on january 3, 2022, and have been investigating the incident since then. As is often the caseful with these attacks, the university was unable to determine whether there had been actual access to files with personal information. as a result, they are notifying current or former students of Martinor prospective students betweenJanuary 2017andJanuary 2022. They realize, however, that they may not have been able to place all those who need notification, and anyone who falls into that time frame who has not been notified can call them at 1-800-939-4170 to enroll in complimentary identity protection services. Their press release points people to the university’s website for more information, but as of the time of this publication, we could not speckle any notice on that site.
