The onslaught was generated when someone accidently opened a malicious file that infected the system. Upon discovering the attack, the cybersecurity team applied containment and isolation measures but at no time was the operational safety of the airport compromised. LockBit has since claimed responsibility for the incident, setting a deadline of nov 27th for the organization and posting three screenshots of data as a proof of claims.
